artsy coffee: water connections - feb 27 - march 28, 2026
This exhibition marks an important moment in my journey as a self-taught printmaker. It brings together two cherished bodies of work, Reconnaissance and Métamorphose, while remaining open to their continued evolution. Rather than closing these series, I have returned to the blocks — carving further, printing again, allowing the process itself to guide me. Through this sustained engagement, new stories and new ways of working with block and ink have emerged.
Reconnaissance grew from a deep engagement with the writings of Robin Wall Kimmerer, whose reflections on reciprocity and abundance invite us to see the earth not as resource, but as gift. These prints draw attention to what is quietly and continually offered: connection, renewal, and joy. To carve a plate is, for me, an act of thanks — gratitude made visible through repeated gesture.
Métamorphose extends this inquiry through water. Inspired by Astrida Neimanis, Vandana Shiva, and Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, I follow water as a connective force moving through stone, ocean, cloud, and body. Water carries memory across beings and across time. It is both finite and infinite. In my art I search to amplify this line and connection between us all - human and non human - to give a space and importance to this source.
For me, Linocut mirrors these transformations. Each incision alters the plate; each impression holds variation. Nothing is fixed. Everything is in process.
